BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION
AND TRAINING
Dogs can sometimes take on behaviours that we do not appreciate. Jumping on people, digging up the garden, aggression towards dogs or people, resource guarding, not coming back when called. These are all behaviours which can be corrected. Dogs want to please us, we can show you techniques that will allow your dog to understand what it is you want from them resulting in a much happier human and canine.
PET THERAPY FOR
SCHOOLS
Research clearly demonstrates the value of having a pet to children particularly those with a disability. We offer pet therapy for schools enabling students who may have no pet at home the opportunity to interact and learn about dogs. We offer dog safety or interaction programs designed and taught by a qualified teacher and tailored to individual classes.
HELPING CHILDREN
IN FOSTER CARE
Children in foster care are often not only separated from their human family but also their beloved pets. This is particularly hard on children removed who also have a disability as they often relate on a more personal level to animals than people. We offer programs to service providers that offers sensitivity and flexibility. The programs are developed by a carer with 2 years’ experience working directly with children in the NSW foster system.

AGED CARE
COMPANIONS
My interest in therapy dogs began when my Grandmother had to move into a retirement village. Having lived her whole life on a property surrounded by animals she was distressed at having to leave her horse and dogs behind making an already difficult move that much harder. Years later in the last two weeks of her life the only time she smiled or responded to any stimulus was when a therapy dog came to her room and she was able to stroke that kind dogs soft coat. We offer programs for every living situation from one on one time to large groups. Individuals are offered activities such as brushing the dogs coat, throwing a soft toy and having the dog retrieve it, taking the dog for a walk or simply enjoying patting and having physical contact with a dog.

TRAINING DOGS FOR
WHEELCHAIR USERS
Individuals confined to a wheelchair can benefit from the love and companionship of a well trained dog. If you already have a dog that you think suitable we can help you train them. If you would like to start with a young dog or puppy we can help find a dog suitable to your needs. Dogs can be taught to walk quietly beside a wheelchair, get a drink out of the fridge, retrieve the phone or any other reasonably weighted object, the possibilities are limited only by the imagination. These are just a few examples of how a dog can enhance the life of an individual with mobility difficulties.
